Every time I clicked the Start Menu button, a pop up would tell me I needed to restart my computer. I also used an external mouse to check for the issue but I still couldn't see the mouse. Suddenly the arrow stopped showing up, I thought it is my touchpad that is causing the problem but it was fine. I was using windows 8.1 and upgraded to 10 a few days back. After a while, probably in September/early October my Start Menu wasn't opening and my search bar next to it wasn't working.
